Strawberry Butter & Simple Strawberry Sauce (Market Monday)

I’m up to my ears in strawberries people! My farmer Amy, from Garden Sweet Farms, was having a deal on flats this week and I just couldn’t resist bringing a few home. Which means lots of yummy strawberry recipes for you.  Today I’m featuring two recipes that are perfect for those strawberries that are still good, but maybe a bit on the ripe side.

First up, a simple strawberry sauce with only 3 ingredients.

[yumprint-recipe id=’567′]You’re going to find so many delicious ways to use this stuff.  We put it on ice cream, pancakes, waffles….I could go on and on. And it only take about 10 minutes to make!

Our favorite way to use Simple Strawberry Sauce? Add about 1/4 cup to 2 quarts of our favorite lemonade for some refreshing strawberry lemonade!

Next up, strawberry butter.  Oh my heavens this stuff is sooooo good.  My kids ask me to make it often. I admit, the idea of strawberry butter sounded a bit strange to me at first.  But really, it’s heavenly. Especially on a warm English muffin.

It’s also good on bagels, toast, pancakes, waffles….you get the idea!  And again, just 3 ingredients and 10 minutes required. You should store it in the refrigerator, but it’s best served at room temperature, so plan to set it out about 30 minutes before you’re going to use it.

Strawberry Butter

Preparation 5 Total Time 0:00

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) butter, room temperature
  • 1/2-3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries

Makes about 1 cup.

Speaking of strawberries, I can never remember things like how many cups are in a pint, so I made a handy  strawberry measurements and equivalents chart to help me out.

  1. Oh I’m printing this now- making this afternoon. YUM once again.

  2. That sounds cool. I have only made garlic butter before.
Did you use unsalted butter? In India, primarily we get only salted butter. Will have to use something else then.

    • Rutvika, I did use unsalted butter, but if it’s not too salty, I think salted butter would work fine, since you’re adding all that sugar anyway. Good luck!

  3. Seriously Danelle, this butter looks amazing. I can’t wait to try it.

  4. sounds like a yummy spread!

  5. I whip 1/2 butter with 1/2 coconut oil for our table could this work to make strawberry butter, I am going to try it.

  6. I love the idea of strawberry sauce- but I only see the strawberry butter recipe. Is it posted somewhere else on your blog?

  7. Jennifer says:

yay! It’s back! Can’t wait to try!
