Pizza Rolls

This post may contain affiliate links. See my full disclosure for further details.

These pizza rolls are a big hit with kids and grown-ups alike.  They’re perfect as an appetizer or a main dish.  On my last trip to the grocery store, I found Pepperoni Minis by Hormel–cute  little miniature pepperonis that are perfect for this recipe (no chopping required). To save time, you could use prepared pizza dough.  I resort to this time-saving method often, although I think the homemade stuff is so much better.  Feel free to adapt the recipe to include any of your favorite pizza toppings. And don’t forget the marinara sauce for dipping!

Pizza Rolls

Preparation 60 mins Cook Time 60 mins Total Time 2 hrs

  • Pizza Dough (enough for 2 pizzas)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 teaspoons basil
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Divide pizza dough in half.
  3. Roll each half into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick and 12 inches long.
  4. Sprinkle each half with equal amounts of garlic salt, basil, cheeses and pepperoni.
  5. Starting at a short end, roll dough up tightly to form a log. Slice into 1-inch pieces.
  6. Place rolls on lightly greased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes or until browned on top. Serve with warm marinara sauce for dipping.

Who Dished It Up First: This is an original recipe, although I’m sure I’m not the first person to come up with the idea.

  1. we have done this but not for a while….guess what we’ll be doing soon. you can also apply this to a deli sandwich. roll out the dough spread with your favorite mustard, deli meat and cheese, slice and bake. they are stinkin’ good (and good for pregnant woment!)

  2. Another family favorite from Let’s Dish! I loved how wonderfully easy it was for kids to help make them and to eat them. Much easier than eating a giant triangle of greasy pizza where the toppings are all sliding off with the cheese! Ha!
