Caramel apples might just be my favorite fall treat. And for some reason, I always think of them as being difficult to make, so I go off and spend a fortune buying them. Well, no more! Maybe I’ve just been using the wrong recipe, because these caramel apples were incredibly easy. Probably a little too easy for a caramel apple lover like me! I could be in serious trouble knowing how quickly I can whip up a batch.
I found I needed to keep these in the refrigerator, or the caramel got a little too soft and sticky. Just pull them out 15-20 minutes before you want to eat them and they’ll be perfect. You don’t have to dip the bottoms of your apples in anything at all, but if you’d like to, there is a list of suggestions in the recipe below. If you are dipping your apples in any kind of chocolate, you may need to let the dipped apples set for just a minute beforehand, so the chocolate doesn’t melt.
